I could be disappointed, but I’m really not. For some reason, God has given me a sense of comfort and confidence that we will get Awana staffed. The meeting didn’t go perfectly – I know I wanted to say more about roles but I completely forgot what I was going to say.
Funny thing is it really felt yesterday like Satan was working hard to disrupt the meeting. Wednesday night, we got an email that the Awana Commander College in Oregon that we were planning to attend had been rescheduled into 2009. Cheryl kept on getting distracted by calls and things so she couldn’t get done all the cleaning we wanted to. We got a survey call that we ignored in the middle of the meeting. One couple’s battery died so they were 45 minutes late. Another two people didn’t realize the meeting started at 6 (not 7). We’ll be changing subsequent meeting dates to 7pm as most people said that worked better for them. But yet it all came off pretty well.
There are a couple of people who came that are still on the fence about participating. We just have to trust God with that – we can’t control it.
